Ufone launches the UZone service
ISLAMABAD: May 13,2008 - Pakistan’s leading telecom operator, Ufone, has launched a special service for students called UZone. This is yet another appreciable step taken by the company for its young customers who can now enjoy the UZone advantage and benefit from location based discounted billing. UZone is the only of its kind service from Ufone that marks a specified area around a campus where students can enjoy discounted call and SMS rates. Now, with Ufone, students have the comfort of calling and messaging at 45 paisas per call and 25 paisas per SMS to any other Ufone number. For Ufone has always gone an extra mile for its valued customers and this is just one of those times. With the launch of this new service, Ufone also offers the ease of subscribing to it by either visiting a nearby Sales and Service Center or simply dialing 333 from a Ufone number. Ufone notifies all its valued subscribers against replying to or acting upon any call or SMS received which claims to double your balance, win bumper prizes, cash rewards, discount vouchers, or any other surprise gifts. Beware of any SMS which contains a string like '03332597334u2u50' or any call that asks you to give the number on the back of a scratch card as this is fraud and will cause you a loss.
Remember, if you receive any such SMS or calls call 333 from your Ufone immediately.

Attention all Ufone Prepaid and Postpay customers! As per new Government Income Tax (Amendment) Ordinance 2011, withholding tax upon each Prepaid balance recharge and Postpay bill payment has been decreased from 11.5% to 10%. This new tax amendment is applicable from 1st July, 2011.

Note: From 21st September 2012, calls to 333 from Ufone prepaid numbers will be charged at Rs. 1.50 + tax per call however charges for speaking to Ufone customer care representative will be reduced from Re.1.00 to Rs.0.75 + tax per call.
